Prices and Shopping

Post by mrwinky » Fri Nov 23, 2007 11:04 pm

I'm heading down to Guadalajara on business in a week, and my wife has asked to do some xmas shopping if I get time. I'm curious on prices in mexico on some stuff, I understand that prices will vary. Some of things I'll be looking for

Silver Braclet
Peasent Shirt
Meixcan blankets
Cowboy Boots (Curious on quailty there)
Leather Hand bags (knockoff or real)
Leather Shoes/boots (wife is looking for both)

Anyways if anyone could shed some light in on it that would be super.

Thanks Winky

My wife likes to buy silver bracelets with Mexican opals. She usually buys these in the jewelry shops to be sure it's real sterling (.925), They are sold by weight and she usually pays 500-700 pesos for one. Blankets can be bargained for at flea markets, they usually start at 250 pesos but you can get them around 150. Our experiences are in the coastal resorts but, it should be close to the same.

Prices in Guadalajara should be significantly cheaper than those in PV, especially if you do your shopping in the Tonala section.
