RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE BEST PLASTIC/COSMETIC SURGEONS

Post by Junebug » Sun Feb 10, 2008 4:04 am

Would like to hear about anyone's thoughts on cosmetic/plastic surgery in the PV area.

Best approved doctors, prices, etc. Good, bad & the ugly.

Would YOU do it?

Would like to hear your comments.

Thanks

Surgery

Post by Jennybean » Sun Feb 10, 2008 5:27 am

Before you consider any surgical procedures in PV, I highly recommend you speak with Pamela Thompson at Health Care Resources Puerto Vallarta.

Pam is an RN and used to work with Cornerstone Hospital before she started HCRPV - which is a company that specializes in the very information you are seeking. I wouldn't even go get a checkup in PV without consulting Pam first, she is an incredible resource for health care services and the community.

At the website there is even a page about medical tourism (ie: traveling to have surgical procedures).

Does Mexico have the equivilant of board certification for it's doctors? If so, you might want to make sure the doctor is board certified. Chuck... 8)

Vanity Insanity

Post by smitty » Sun Feb 10, 2008 2:38 pm

Vanity Insanity is a TV series which gives the straight answers about the real cost of beauty . Episode 8 is titled , "Border Jumpers - Crossing The Line . " Horror stories on cheap Mexican surgeries performed across the Texas - Mexico border . Watch this episode and answer your own question .
Not to just lay blame on Mexico - in Canada any Doctor can do cosmetic surgery . Many deaths have resulted from liposuction procedures done by GP's . Plastic Surgery is a speciality and choosing a procedure by the lowest price is insane .

Information

Post by Jennybean » Sun Feb 10, 2008 7:40 pm

I repeat, which is why IF someone is going to consider this procedure or any type of elective invasive surgical procedure in Mexico (or anywhere else for that matter, it's not limited to Mexico) they should go the best source for that information and not just take advice from strangers on a message board.

Pam IS the medical professional, and knows more about the medical profession in PV than any of us...not to mention she has had her own procedures done in PV in very recent months, so she has the "insiders view" of the system as well.

I think what the OP is looking for is information about who to speak to and where to find the best information about this, not whether they should do it or not - that's none of our business, with all due respect. :)
