Vanilla??? Where is cheap place to get it?

Heard Mexico is the place to buy cheap and GOOD vanilla.
Where do I go to buy some.
I'm going to be staying at hte Holiday Inn.
What other cheap shopping is there close to the H.I.

just like any grocery store or anywhere else... shop shop shop and compare.... Giagante is just across the street from you, and down the street about four blocks is a Super Laplaya... great prices for alcohol too.... i usually get my vanilla at the Mega Store ... they have different "brands" just like we do, and just go from there....

You will see vanilla on sale all over among the vendors, corner stores, etc. It is usually more expensive in these locations. Make sure you find a grocery store where the local people shop, like the mega, for the best price.

Big bottle of Vanilla 1 litre usually around $8-10 usd. This is the real stuff, not artificial, and a little goes a long way. As for as customs, I don't think there is a limit, unless they think you are bringing it back for resale. You just never know, this last time I was stopped in STL and asked about the soccer jerseys (6) brought back. They wanted to know why I had bought them. Jeez, What the hell am I going to do with 6 mexican soccer jerseys all of different teams? I had to explain that we collect them and use them ourselves.

I brought back 6 bottles and got searched at the airport when we got home but they didn't care..make sure you check the label and it says "pure" vanilla because there is lots of the fake stuff in PV too. Rizo's Grocery on South Side Downtown has lots of brands and very good prices.

Over the years, I have found that Orlando brand is the best vanilla. Also, check out the Mercado grocery store south of the river, the locals shop here. It's a great store!

I also found that orlando vanilla is the best brand to use. Prices were also good and cheap.
