I love to read (lots) of novels while on vacation but with this trip lasting a month, I am not inclined to pack so many. Do they have the latest paperbacks (like you would find in the US) in english? This is my 4th trip to PV but I have never been to the Sam's Club or Walmart while there.
Thanks for the info!

Books at Walmart?

books
There are a number of used book/coffee/internet spots in old PV. Also one of the real advantages of small independent hotels/Inns most have book exchanges. Also some of the beach spots do this. I take 6 books for a 2 to 3 month trip to Mexico exchanging every where I go.
New Paperback Books
When I was last in Puerto Vallarta in March 2005, there was a relatively new bookstore, appropriately called "The Book Store". They probably had the best selection of new English-language paperbacks that I have found in Puerto Vallarta. They were located on the southside of town at 333-A Venustiano Carranza. Their phone number is 223-9437. I sure hope they are still in business!

I also found an eMail address for them: ThebookStore@aol.com
Hi Stew,
I was just injecting little humor into my last post. I agree with you 100% about Walmart: it's the locals who bring most of the business.
I was amused the first time I saw the small souvenir section at the Puerto Vallarta Walmart. I mean, who would want to return home with a suitcase full of vacation remembrances they purchased at Walmart? I would rather go to a local Mom-and-Pop store, even if to only buy the same items
