Tequila Poll?

Post by ritavic » Tue Aug 21, 2007 8:38 pm

What's your favorite tequila? I have just discovered Patron. I love it! I never had anything so smooth. I highly recommend it "martini style" Chilled on ice the poured in a glass for a smooth drink with or without lemon and salt.

Any other tequila recommendations?

Don Julio Real (Anejo)...hands down.
Don Julio 1942 is very good as well, and cheaper!!

Here is an excellent "tequila site" by the way - http://www.pocotequila.com/

Thank you for correcting the spelling of poll. I confess it caused me a moment of confused mental images the other way.

 ditto!!! (And hence the correction) LMAO I often sneakily go ahead and correct spelling in people's posts...except for Tom's...it's WAY more fun to just point them out...

Anything but Jose Cuervo a/k/a rotgut, but I prefer Milagro Reposado,,, somebody told me it was aged in oak barrels as opposed to the other brands.... Maybe I got snowed and they all are.

Don Julio Anejo is amazing, Patron is ok but you can find better for the same price. Herradura Reposado is pretty good as well. We have gone horseback riding at a ranch in Las Palmas I believe is called Rancho Capomo. They make their own tequila and it is HEAVENLY. If you are ever offered to taste a "smoked" tequila, it tastes like campfire water!

Being more budget minded, I try to find Cazadores reposado on sale, sometimes under 30.00USD and it's good enough for straight shots.

a few years ago I toured the sauza distillery in the town of tequila. at the end of the tour they served everybody a mixed drink or a shot of tres generationes anejo. you can have as many as you want and you get to keep the shot glass (tequilero) I left with six glasses and a new found love for three generations tequila.I started collecting different bottles of tequila and now have over sixty bottles.tried almost half of them and three generations is still my favorite.on the bus ride from guadalara to tequila everybody was talking and laughing, on the ride back everybody was sleeping.

I just bought one in the airport before I left  and it is a Anjos
it is so smooth. I had told the lady to grab me a Cazadores as that is a good one (the resposado) and another lady came to me and said "you do not wantto buy that" I said "yeah I do, I like it" and os then she started giving me tastes  and that was good! I ended up with the centinerio, it has a angel on the front and it is SO SMOOTH when it goes down there is no burn what so ever!
She said that it was not in the States, but my husband called and our liqure store has it for $60 a 5th. I got the one at the airport for $31! So it is like gold! That is more for a 5th than Pitron (sp)
It is VERY good and my new FAV! :o

I have been drinking a lot of Herradura Repasado lately but I still favor Tres Generations Repasado for a good night on the rocks. 8)

There all good, silver, repasdo, anejo, as long as they are 100% puro de agave my favorites at this moment are, Gran Imperio Herradura, Herradura repasado, Don Julio repasado, Partida repasado, Herencia de Plata anejo, Patron anejo, but the ultimate has to be Jose Cuervo reserva de la familia.
