Leaving the United States - BANKING QUESTION-RETIRE.........

Post by kenny » Sat Jun 19, 2010 9:42 pm

hi, Have been planning for years to just retire and/or semi retire to Puerto Vallarta full-time. I am so so tired of the rat race in the U.S. Eventually I'll make the move...and most likely it will be close to never that there be a desire return to the states. AS TO BANKING....what should I do....Just close all my accounts in U.S. or keep accounts in the U.S. and /or Mexico...Is it easy to transfer from U.S to Mexican accounts,etc... Please advise....Thanks so much ... [/b]

We kept our accounts at TD Waterhouse, opened a Bancomer account to write checks. Transfers cost 250 pesos plus IVA. For cash we use the ATMs. They charge around 25 pesos each time so we withdraw 10000 pesos each time.
