Buying a house in Puerto Vallarta

Hello everybody, we are a couple from Austria and want to retire to Puerto Vallarta!!! We have visited Vallarta many times but when the summer kicks in we’re out, it is really difficult for us to be in pv in the summer, so we were wondering if anybody could recommend us a place, preferable a house a little further from the beach but not too far from Vallarta, because we want to be as close as possible but without the humidity in the summer. My wife has a skin irritation that pops up every time we’re in Vallarta in the summer, and we believe it has to do with the humidity plus the heat.

A friend of ours said that Guadalajara might be an option since it is only 4 hours drive from Vallarta, but we really don’t want to go back into a city and 4 hours might sound easy now but who knows in the future, we hope somebody could give us some advice here in the forum, we are still looking for options.

Thank you![/b]

You said a 4 hr. drive in the future might be an issue and I agree. When you are looking at retirement we always have to think into the future and will oue health allow us to deal with long drives/distances to hospitals/medical care. They are building a new road (but how long it will take, who knows) that will make the drive right around 2 hrs. That is something to think about that will be available in the future.

Maybe Mogen's will come on and give you some more information, as he actually lives in Guadalajara.
