Hi there.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to book 'flights only' from Calgary in January? All I can find is flights over $800 taxes in right now. Any suggestions on a travel agent to watch for deals etc.?
Thanks

Alaskan Airlines is having a sale right now...check them out. I think you can get a flight for about $730

Try America West.We fly from Edmonton every year in Feb.,air only for 3 weeks and it seems we have to search for good deals every year. Last year we went with Alaska 800.00 each this year Alaska was 1050.00.We found America West (Mesa Air) for 980.00 each.I'm not sure if the prices are higher because of the situation in the Caribean or not.Does anybody know?

Try the $55USD barrel of oil instead. Higher oil prices=higher fuel costs=higher costs to the consumer.

Like I said, your best bet is waiting. Both Alaska and America West had excellent sales on during the month of September for flights into Dec./Jan./Feb. but it's over now, so what you are seeing is the regular pricing - affected by the rising prices of fuel of course. There are enough flight options out of YYC that you aren't going to be stranded if you wait it out a bit longer.

Chinooks, see my other post for more detailed info on where to find flights. Believe me, I do it every year, I'm an old hand at sniffing out the cheap ones. (-:

Boy... didn't realized we missed a deal in Sept. I thought I was watching. I did contact Sundial Travel... she is going to watch prices for me. I really think this year we will wait it out. Hate to pay over $800... however we may have to...

Edmonton flights on Alaska connect through Seattle (via Horizon Air). See Alaska's website for more detailed info about schedules and routes. You should also sign up for their newsletter, as when there is a sale, you get an email about it.

Re:Flying from Calgary- try selloffvacations!!!!

Chinooks,

Already I answered your question in your previousy post.

Try this web site:
http://www.selloffvacations.com/home.htm

on this site are two options:
LAST MINUTE - departure dates up to 4 weeks,
or
Vacation Packages
Both are with great prices....
but the first one is the LAST MINUTE..sometimes you have deal or
sometimes everything is "sold out" and accordingly all good deals are gone in the lower price range....

Check the destination and CALL THEM!
Talk to selloffvacation Agent on the phone.
Do not book your vacation over internet!!!!

We always use them (for the last 5 years) and never had any problems.
As the price is concern - selloffvacations is THE BEST in Canada.

http://www.sundialtravel.com/ is good to SE Asia e.g. Bali or Thailand...

another web site - but MORE EXPENSIVE is : http://www.itravel2000.com/

Good luck and enjoy your "homework" in searching for the good price.

Jon

btw..we flying from Calgary to PV - ALL INCLUSIVE, 3* hotel, 14 days for...$1088.00 plus tax!

Hi Chinooks,

Yes, we got an excellent deal.

As I said before - nobody can beat Selloffvacations.com in Canada.
Even, if individual Travel Agent beat their prices by offering the same price...I refuse to pay agent fee!

Now back to your question regarding booking.
We booked on September 30th.

Still you can find excellent deals to Puerto Vallarta in range of these prices for January or February 2005...check daily or better every few hours selloffvacations.com site...the prices are regularly changing because of the sold out or new are added....

and something more;;;I like 3*** hotels.
There is excellent service and atmosphere.. with great local cuisine.

For example, if I read a Travel Report and somebody is writing that "the food was awful. cold snack ect.." I new immediately - that person who wrote have nothing to offer only complains and that Travel Report is USELESS!
Once I read that somebody wrote...to many Mexicans were in this hotel!

Well are we in Mexico or...in Florida :)))) ???? !!!!!

BTW - do you now these sites to do your "homework" before travel?
CHECK OR ASK A QUESTION ON THESE FORUMS:
Cancun

Puerto Vallarta
http://www.puertovallarta.net/bulletinb ... gory&CID=1

infor about Location, Hotels ....

Search for your destinattion and wiew pictures and read comments:
