In the resort area of course, including el centro but not too far off the main road. We're staying in the Marina and already know of Victor's Place, but looking for a few other options. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Cheap drinks
Captain Ron's has 2 for 1 drinks all day everyday..Includes all premium and national drinks..
Depends what you mean
If by cheap you mean bang for your buck, the hora feliz one-is-two principle means you can drink quite a bit without sticker shock when you get la cuenta. You're more likely to run out of capacity before pesos. There's a two-step strategy, and may require some field research, if you know what I mean:
1) Find the bars that serve the drinks the right way, i.e. with a proper amount of alcohol in them (not like in gringoland).
2) Remember -- or better yet, write down -- when their happy hours are so you can plan your route.
I don't know the Marina area well enough to make recommendations. But if you're in El Centro mid-afternoon you might want to try the mojitos at La Bodeguita (toward the north end of the Malecon). For us, we might start out there, then take a bus back to our place (Los Tules in the Hotel Zone) for margaritas by the pool until happy hour expires there then we walk up the beach to another hotel (Suntierra) where happy hour goes until 7. Actually, we might only do two out of three of these stops, but you get the idea.

EL LITRO!!!!
We stumbled upon this place thanx to some friends we met @ our resort. It is right around the corner from Bodiga de la Cube (i so spelled that wrong!) The drinks cost abount the same as a regular bar/club, however, here is the clencher. EVERY DRINK IS A LITER! i had two and was DONE for the night (and most of the next morning!) LOL
OOOHhhhhh THANK YOU FEMME!!!!! I LOVE IT!!! Those were my thoughts EXACTLY, but didn't know how far I wanted to take it, because once I get started................
