I had the pleasure of visiting this bar on my 2004 PV trip, but on my last trip, 2007, it was closed. Is this bar completely closed now or was it just shut down when I visited last? I thought it was a beautiful venue. I loved the music, down tempo electro and trip hop, and the beds were a really cool added touch. I am hoping to be able to visit there again on my next vacation to Puerto Vallarta.

Keith,
The Rex was in El Centro, and I am not sure if it is still open or not. Why the troll alert, maybe you know something I don't?...I see it as a question of whether or not this club was just closed at the time of the OP's last trip or if it is no more.

I tried googling the Rex in PV but didn't get much, I assume it is still open then? Guess I'll see for myself!

The Rex was open in the space that was Planet Hollywood before it and is now Senor Frogs "downtown" location. I totally agree it was an awesome venue and they played wicked music. Unfortunately it was only open about one season and then shut down as pretty much no one frequented it.
