Karaoke bars downtown?

Post by Blair-y-Dina » Sat Apr 06, 2013 5:35 am

First post! :D In May my wife and I will be visiting Vallarta for the first time. We like to do karaoke at least once everywhere we visit. We will be staying a few blocks north of the Malecón. Does anyone know of any karaoke bars near there? And on which nights do they have it? (I did a search for karaoke and PV and found a list, but that kind of thing tends to get out of date quickly.)

Cafe Roma has karaoke on Wed. Nights. It s on Encino behind the Municipal market just before you cross the bridge over the Rio Cuale to the South side. It is a friendly, great place.

Karaoke

Post by webmaster » Sat Apr 06, 2013 11:55 am

I love music, when it's sung by professionals, I can't stand karaokes where music is thoughtlessly destroyed by wannabees :-) Sorry for sounding so grumpy, I even went to karaokes in Tokyo and Okinawa (they supposedly are the originators of this aberration ;-)) and it was just as awful, so there is no guarantees anywhere.

Have fun, now I know that it's good to avoid Cafe Roma hehehe.

Greetings

Mogens

Music by Professionals Only

I'll be rallying for the creation of a Weather Underground-style revolutionary movement called Citizens Against Caraoke Assault (CACA) to defend our oh-so-holy ears from the constant suffering created by CACAroke machines and "performers". ;-)

Wish me luck.

Sorry Blair-y-Diana not that you aren't welcome, not at all, just having a bit of fun, do notice the smileys in between, they are a clue. There's every kind of people in the world, and as long as we/they aren't terrorists and such, we can all enjoy different things.

Like this song by the good ol' Roberto Palmera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1LXT1BovlA

And there seems to be the Kokopelli too

Post by webmaster » Wed Apr 17, 2013 5:37 pm

If you look under http://www.puertovallarta.net/what_to_d ... tion=disco there's the Kokopelli Karaoke and Dance Bar that would also fall under Karaoke Bar.

Greetings

You can find Café Roma on Facebook and Larry/Cheryl post pictures weakly of people having fun. He also runs OurVallarta. While singing is not all that good, especially Larry himself, everyone has fun and there are some amazing singers who participate there. You will have fun Dina y Blair.

(I go once a year just to keep current.)
