where is the Riu Jallisco located at? Do you recommend it? Is it in Nuevo Vallarta?

Personally, no. I don't like major hotels with 700 rooms. There will be lots of people, lots of children and lots of drunks. We stayed at the RIU Tropical Bay in Negril, Jamaica. Based on that experience, would never stay at another RIU anywhere. The RIU's are a very inexpensive AI hotel. You get what you pay for. Major complaints consist of unruly singles that get too drunk and act up, too many screaming obnoxious children, too crowded to get loungers and shade at pool/beach, large groups of loud people, especially wedding parties that dominate staff, the long lines to wait in to make ala cart dining reservations, no AC in the rooms. Just a blower and/or fan. They only hotel I've ever seen in which irons/board are an extra charge. The worst food of any AI I have ever stayed at and I've been to plenty.

Just returned from Jalisco. The hotel and grounds were great. We had no problems with any of the facilities. The food was palitable but not exciting. Clients were 50% Mexican national and 50% American, UK, and Canadian. We had no problems with kids or finding loungers. I will not come back to the hotel because it seems to cater more to the locals (the discount the rooms to the locals and there is an onslaught of people for the weekend.) The bar tenders tended to ignore my wife until I stepped behind her and then she got instant service. For some of the non-nationals they treated the resort like an adult spring break but this did not impeade on our fun. I have been to many AI's and the size of this place seemed to help it and not hurt it. Hope this helps.
First, on this site you have AI lovers and AI detesters. I myself prefer an AI since I only stay one week at a time and I like to be pampered for that week. Luckily we have been able to get to Mexico 2-3 times a year since 1999 so now all we do is veg on the beach or at the pools, sipping on delicious beverages and eating whenever we feel like it.
Mostly, you get from your vacation what you put into it. I expect a good time and that's what happens. Sure, not everything is perfect but I can overlook those minor imperfections and still have a great week in the sun.
If the R. Jalisco looks good to you, try it. If you're not impressed don't return. Check out the reviews, and remember not to believe much said in one that rates a resort a 1 or 2. Most of the time these guests cannot be satisfied no matter where they will stay.
