http://www.puertovallarta.net - Second stop was Playa Destiladeras (between Punta Burros and Bucerias, Nayarit), this time around I was informed I ought to look for a development called Nahui. I had already seen it on the way to Punta de Mita, but I assumed it was only that, a real estate development with a big car park. Check out our new 2018 video of Destiladeras Beach here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf88PNt6xb4 I parked there around midday and it was really, actually quite hot, a 15 knot hot steady wind coming in from the South (where's my windsurf when I need it ...). You can see the coastline up from the hill where you park, the beach is in two parts separated by a little point, a little stretch of around 200 meters on the left and the main beach on the right that is long, around 2 kilometers (1.3 miles) at least. You walk down the hillside; there are two stretches of stairs to the beach itself. Destiladeras beach is wide, clear sand, soft waves. There were quite a few people there and it's certainly a popular beach, definitely a household friendly family-playa and quite recommendable. There are a few little extremely rustic establishments that provide cold beverages, fish, basic treats and very little more. If you are fussy it's best to pack your own food and beverages before going to Playa Destiladera in the North Zone.
