Excursionists, graduates and families will arrive in Vallarta

There will be excursion groups, recent graduates, and big families in the city, according to Martin Rodriguez Felix, president of the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies (AMAV) in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. He also stated that they have high expectations for this summer’s vacation period.

The traveler emphasized that Puerto Vallarta is one of the most popular vacation spots during the upcoming holiday season. As a result, there will be a significant increase in tourism. Many visitors will arrive by bus or sprinter, particularly from the Bajio region, so a 70 percent occupancy rate is anticipated between this location and Banderas Bay.

“Let’s not have any doubt that we will be satisfied in a week or 15 days. Since it has been an unusually out-of-the-ordinary year compared to other seasons, the summer is 90 percent national and foreign visitors have not stopped coming, but we are confident that the summer will be a good one “season”.

He said that since the Bajo region, which benefits us by land and includes Michoacán, Aguascalientes, State of Mexico, will have groups of excursions developed by retail travel companies, it will be the national market that boosts the destination’s occupancy over the next two months.

He underlined that although customers are happy with Puerto Vallarta, the location has grown slightly more expensive as a result of the high demand for it; it may even be more expensive than Los Cabos.

“I believe our destination has gotten a little more pricey, but in a good way. This indicates we are having a very excellent average level of spending per person, and that is good.”

He said that during this holiday season, the packages that include lodging, travel by land or air, and a few activities in the bay tend to sell the best.

Rodriguez Felix predicted that this month would see an increase in the number of recent high school graduates who often travel elsewhere or abroad. Finally, he underlined that an average person spends between 8,000 and 10,000 pesos in the destination for a 5-day, 4-night trip after paying for transportation and lodging.
