First ‘Furry Festival’ in Puerto Vallarta

Marina Vallarta’s Rotary Club is inviting the public and their pets to the very first ‘Furry Festival’ on April 27 and 28 at the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Complex starting at 10:00 am.

In a press conference, the organizing staff noted the festival is looking to raise money for Puerto Vallarta’s Control and Help Center & Municipal Shelter (CCAAAM for its initials in Spanish.) The event includes two days of activities for our furry friends, like costume contests, runways, challenges and lectures on diverse subjects with canine and feline specialists. There will also be adopting opportunities during the event.

One of the most interesting activities in the festival will definitely be the ‘Urban Mushing’, which is a bike route, or any other wheeled artifacts, that owners can enjoy with their pets. There are participants attending from out of state for this race alone.

According to the organizers, there will be a family environment, with music, food and drink. To gain access to the festival for both days, there will be a $20 pesos entry fee, while children pay only $10 pesos. Over two thousand people are expected to attend the event.
