Fourth Vallarta Book Fair Now Underway

The Vallarta Book Fair is now underway at the Plaza de Armas in Puerto Vallarta, this event will bring together more than 40 editorials presenting their most recent releases and with honor guest, writer and poet, Javier Sicilia in a literary evening.

Tourism goes hand in hand with art, culture and sports. Puerto Vallarta is an open museum where you can breathe art and culture while you stroll through the Malecon, plaza de armas, Hidalgo park, Lazaro Cardenas square and other zones in the city, said mayor Arturo Dávalos Peña, when he opened the fourth edition of the Vallarta Book Fair 2019 this past Thursday.

With his spouse by his side, Candelaria Tovar de Dávalos (DIF President); Marina de los Santos Álvarez, Director of the Vallarta Culture Institute (IVC); Osvaldo Juárez Ortega, president of Mecenas del Libro, A.C. Foundation and the current president of the Culture Commission, Luis Alberto Michel Rodríguez, the mayor reiterated these kinds of events must be supported and strengthened.

The fourth edition of this event is the result of the Mecenas del Libro A.C. Foundation and the IVC, whose president, Marina de los Santos, explained for 11 days more than 40 editorials presenting their most recent releases and thanked them for their trust in the project.

De los Santos noted the presence of writer and poet, Aguascalientes National Poetry Prize 2009, Javier Sicilia, who will head a literary evening next Tuesday, January 29 and 6:00 pm local time, and also pointed out the fair has wide Schedule of activities and is expecting to draw over 30 thousand people.
