There are many reasons to travel to the Jalisco coast throughout the year, but in October there will be a very special one that is both delicious and beautiful. The 14th Vallarta-Nayarit Gastronomic Encounter, a fantastic event where flavors, recipes, knowledge, and pairings can be experienced at a supreme level, will take place from October 12 to 18 at the Sheraton Buganvilias Hotel in Puerto Vallarta. This year the philosophy of the event will be sustainability.

The states of Coahuila, Guanajuato, and Tamaulipas, which will bring the best of their regional cuisine, are among the numerous invited guests. Spain, which is the event’s guest country, has also been invited and has said it will take part by, among other things, sending its best chefs, dishes, and wines to make the bohemians drool.

Chefs Dominique Crenn (United States, three Michelin Stars), Daniela Soto-Innes (Mexico, named the best cook in the world in 2019), Jorge Orozco (Mexico, ambassador of pre-Hispanic cuisine), and Gerardo Vázquez Lugo (from the nation’s capital, chef and gastronomic lecturer) will be there.

Additionally, there will be the skills of Guadalajara-born Alejandro Espinosa, the executive chef of La Cuchara del Chef in our city; Gaetano Simonetti, the executive chef of La Tosca in Puerto Vallarta; and Karla Castro (head chef of La Cueva de Don Cenobio in Tequila, Jalisco). The list could continue on and on because there are so many chefs participating, in addition to top-notch mixologists.
