From May 26 to 31, music festival Mayo Fest will take place in its now traditional place, the Malecon Lighthouse (on Galeana St) and it will offer the public a show worthy of the municipality's 100 years.
The Centennial celebrations have been taking place since September 2017, the entire year was marked as a "Jubilee Year", however in May is when most events are taking place. In its third edition, the festival -organized by Vallarta's Culture Institute with the Secretary of Culture of the State of Jalisco, the Tourism Trust, the Tourism Direction and COMUDE- will include free cultural, musical, sporting and touristic events of the highest level.
There will be a preamble to the festival on May 25th, where two photo exhibitions that will look to Vallarta's past, focusing on moments that marked the social, economic and cultural development of the port.
On May 26th, Mayo Fest 2018 will officially begin at 7:00 pm, with musical acts including Alas, escuela de canto, Tatewari, La Boquita and La Santa Cecilia. During the festival the public will enjoy shows from acts like Salty Paw Jazz Orchestra, José Carlos y George Gracia, Jaime Martínez, Janett Michel, Pro Danza, Plataforma 322, Vallarta Azteca, Xiutla, Pepe Aguilar & Ángela Aguilar, among others.
