Fall and Winter 2022 events in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is a year-round vacation destination in Mexico. The city is known for its beaches, gastronomy, and Mexican culture. These six activities will give visitors a taste of the coastal city’s history and scenery.

“Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomica” (October 12–18, 2022)

Chefs from Mexico, the U.S., Latin America, and Europe will participate. This year’s topic is “Kitchen Sustainability.” Over 50 Michelin-starred chefs, celebrity chefs, experts, sommeliers, and mixologists will attend. Live cooking demonstrations, gourmet seminars, tasting menu dinners, mixology, and wine tastings are available. The Nebulosa Project pop-up will look like the rainforest in Jalisco. It will serve a sustainable breakfast with dishes from Kisco Garca, who has a Michelin star.

“66th International Marlin and Sailfish Fishing Tournament” (November 9–12, 2022)

Off Puerto Vallarta, travelers may sail for marlin and sailfish. The competition includes marlin, sailfish, mahi mahi, and tuna. New records are set every year, so you don’t need a reel to enjoy the catch. In one of the oldest tournaments in the area, thousands of people gather on the pier to watch the official weighing and eat fresh fish.

November 10–20, 2022: “Festival Gourmet International”

This event features 60 chefs from Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit. Guests can sample delicacies from visiting international chefs and take cooking classes. “Gourmet Safari” offers a four-course progressive tasting tour of 30 participating restaurants.

“Fireride Festival” (November 12 and 25-26, 2022)

This international mountain biking festival features a local qualifying event and an invited event featuring the world’s best male and female riders, live music, DJ sets, tacos, and good times. Dual slalom racing, high jump, best trick, and whip-off battles determine the champion. This action-packed mountain bike party lets spectators ride bikes on the trails before the night’s festivities. This is an open-to-the-public event.

“Burden Run” (December 3, 2022)

This event is an obstacle-focused race in the tropical jungles on four-to seven-mile tracks. Crossing the world’s longest suspension bridge is difficult (1,542 feet long and 492 feet high). Since the race is not timed, athletes are encouraged to have fun as they cross the finish line. There is an age-ranked race with rewards for the top three in each age category. Burden Run is about 25 minutes from Puerto Vallarta’s hotel zone.
