Puerto Vallarta obtains record results in tourism during the first quarter of 2023.

In terms of hotel activity, the city continues on a positive trend, with an 82 percent average occupancy rate during the quarters from January to March 2023, representing a 3.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This figure is reflected in a 4.5 percent increase in the number of occupied rooms in the city’s hotels, which means that visitors found a wide variety of options to stay during their visit. Puerto Vallarta has stood out for its diversity of tourist activities, from aquatic, sports, cultural and relaxing activities, a wide gastronomic offer, as well as beautiful beaches with turquoise waters.

This amount of tourists was achieved thanks to the promotion of Puerto Vallarta as a tourist destination, the increase in the offer of tours and guided visits, the modernized infrastructure and the promotional efforts of the Ministry of Tourism of Jalisco and ProMéxico. This allowed cruise passengers to enjoy the gastronomy, the variety of beaches and bays, the warm weather, the cultural tours and the security offered by the destination. All this contributed to Puerto Vallarta’s positioning as a world-class destination. Puerto Vallarta has experienced a great increase in the number of cruise tourists during the first quarter of this year.

During the first long weekend vacation of the year, Puerto Vallarta received the visit of around 144 thousand visitors, who enjoyed its beautiful beaches, the different ecological destinations, golf courses, gastronomy, culture, art and the spectacular sunsets offered by the destination. In addition, the Riviera Nayarit’s beach destinations also registered an average occupancy rate of 82.7 percent during the first long weekend vacation. Puerto Vallarta positioned itself as the number one beach destination in the country thanks to the economic revenue of more than 966 million pesos during the first long weekend vacation of the year.

Puerto Vallarta is a national and international tourism destination with outdoor activities, excellent infrastructure, natural scenery, tourist attractions and beaches; it also hosts international events such as Restaurant Week, Vallarta Pride, Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomic, Ultra Trade UTMB and the International Gourmet Festival.
