A nursery, a dock, the netting of the entire protected area, and a crocodile farm to provide tourists with educational opportunities are all part of the estuary’s remodeling.
The construction being done inside Estero El Salado will give this natural area, which is unique in Latin America, traits it did not previously have and will give all visitors more and better information.

The second stage, whose construction will start this week, will spend 17 million pesos on a nursery, a better boat access pier, netting the entire protected area, and a crocodile farm that will serve as a visitor education center.

Jaime Alberto Torres, the area’s director, who has been in charge of the estuary for years despite government negligence and staff shortages, made this announcement.

El Salado will develop into an educational destination targeted at locals and student groups who are unaware of many of the benefits of this wilderness area.
