UTMB World Series arrives to Puerto Vallarta

The Jalisco Tourism Ministry, the Puerto Vallarta Trust, and OSM, which is in charge of putting on the event, all said that Puerto Vallarta Mexico by UTMB® will be held in Jalisco.

This event will take place from October 28–30 in the Sierra Madre Occidental and the municipalities of Mascota, San Sebastián del Oeste, and Puerto Vallarta, attracting international attention to these tourist attractions. It’s estimated to generate 45 million pesos for the state.

2,500 international and national athletes (30% foreigners, 70% Mexicans) will compete and enjoy the landscapes, gastronomy, and culture of each route.

“We welcome 2,500 runners from more than 32 nations,” said Puerto Vallarta, Mexico by UTMB® director Alejandro Ochoa Reyes.

Luis Villaseor, General Director of the Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Publicity of Puerto Vallarta, said, “It’s very exciting that Puerto Vallarta will host this world-class sporting event, since we’re the only destination in Latin America where it will take place, bringing together the world’s best runners.”

“This event will definitely help the city’s tourism business, and the natural beauty that everyone will be able to enjoy in this lovely port will paint an amazing picture of the green jewel of the Mexican Pacific,” he said.

Agenda:

A press conference and top runner presentation are set for Thursday, October 27 at 5:00 and 6:00 pm, respectively, on Puerto Vallarta’s Malecon. The 100-mile race begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 28 in San Sebastian del Oeste.
