Viva Aerobus inaugurates flights between Toluca and Puerto Vallarta

As its fourth destination established from Toluca International Airport this year, Viva Aerobus began operating flights between there and Puerto Vallarta (PVR) on Monday, April 14th. The budget airline is the second to provide service out of the three commercial airports in the greater Mexico City area. “We are happy that Viva Aerobus is serving an increasing number of passengers from Toluca Airport, where we have cutting-edge infrastructure and friendly service.” Together, the airport and airline can improve the state’s tourism and business climate, which will help to advance regional development “said AIT’s general director Hugo Alberto Delgado Ortega.

Airbus A320neo with the registration number XA-VIR was used for flight VB 9144, which departed from Toluca (TLC) at 10:47 local time and arrived at Licenciado Gustavo Daz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) at 11:49, or an hour and a half later. Data from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) provided by Aviacionline shows that over the period of January through September 2022, 7,503 operations conveyed 1,040,224 people and 405.4 tons of cargo between Puerto Vallarta (PVR) and the Mexico City metropolitan area. The three primary airports in Mexico City’s capital, Licenciado Gustavo Dáz Ordaz International Airport (PVR), are Benito Juárez (MEX), Felipe Angeles (NLU), and Toluca (TLC). Daily flights from Toluca to Puerto Vallarta depart at 10:40 and 12:10, respectively. Daily flights from Puerto Vallarta to Toluca depart at 12:50 and 14:25, respectively.

Viva Aerobus keeps improving its domestic flight operations. The low-cost carrier is the second-largest air operator in the domestic market in terms of passengers carried, per AFAC data. It mobilized 12,447,264 domestic passengers and 6,325.6 tons of cargo in 75,173 operations between January and September of this year. According to Walfred Castro Novelo, Director of Communications for Viva Aerobus, “now, for the convenience of all travelers in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico, they can choose whether to fly non-stop to Puerto Vallarta from AIT or AICM; of course, always in new aircraft and at low prices so they can make the most of any trip, whether for pleasure or business.”
