Los Muertos Pier in Vallarta was officially reopened

With the notable participation of Mayor Luis Alberto Michel Rodríguez and the Governor of the state of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez. They led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the completion of the rehabilitation works on this significant maritime infrastructure, which underwent a substantial investment of 12.5 million Mexican pesos.

In an official statement, it was reported that the ceremony was attended by authorities from all three levels of government and representatives from the labor sector. During the event, the municipal president emphasized the importance of the Muelle de Los Muertos as an icon of Puerto Vallarta, highlighting its appeal to tourists exploring the destination at night. He expressed gratitude to the governor for his continuous support of tourism, emphasizing that the prosperity of Puerto Vallarta relies heavily on the influx of visitors to this beautiful destination.

The governor recalled that the pier had undergone reconstruction a decade ago, but over time, its structure had sustained damage necessitating comprehensive reconstruction. Additional details about the improvements were provided by the Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works (SIOP), David Miguel Zamora Bueno. These included the cleaning and sandblasting of the main metal structure, the application of anti-corrosive paint, the repair of damaged concrete, the rehabilitation of stainless steel railings, and other measures to strengthen the structure and enhance the lighting.

The governor also announced plans to equip the pier with free high-speed internet in the coming year. Among those present at the ceremony were the Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco, Claudia Vanesa Pérez Lamas, the Secretary of Transportation, Diego Monraz Villaseñor, and union leaders such as Juan Huerta Peres from CTM Jalisco and Rafael Yerena Zambrano from the Regional Federation of CTM Workers. Additionally, Captain Joaquín Zetina Reyes, representing the XII Naval Zone, was also in attendance at the event.
