Hiking and snorkeling at Colomitos

The south of Puerto Vallarta has great natural attractions, where the tropical coast and the low deciduous forest of the Mexican Pacific meet in enchanting landscapes, worth exploring. In this tour your guide will take you through the mountain along a path used for decades to reach the villages on the south of the Bay, while pointing out and explaining about the different types of vegetation found on the site, such as gigantic fig trees, beautiful plumerias and hibiscus, leafy cecropias and “papelillos”, as well as the most common animals of the site, among which sea and mountain birds and green and black iguanas stand out. During the hike, beautiful views of the bay are shown and when descending from the mountain path, vegetation opens to give way to a small soft-sanded beach: Colomitos. Famous for being one of the smallest beaches on the coast of Banderas Bay, this cove is home to various underwater attractions, such as pufferfish, angelfish, damselfish, sea urchins and even, with a bit of luck, you can find rays and sea turtles. After our snorkeling activity, there will be an opportunity to enjoy a few minutes on the beach before starting our hike back.

Wild Dolphins & Snorkeling

Our team of biologists and naturalists will accompany you on this unforgettable adventure in search of one of the most adorable and intelligent animals in the ocean: the dolphins. Enjoy watching them have fun while your guide explains about the behaviors. It is possible to observe small groups of dolphins feeding or playing, some swimming calmly, others surfing next to the boat and, with a bit of luck, finding mothers with their babies or playful and curious dolphins, giving us an unforgettable show. Also, if the behavior of the dolphins allows it, you can be in the water with them around you. Before starting this adventure, you’ll have an informative talk about the biology and ecology of these incredible creatures. Afterwards, you can enjoy the dolphins and the beautiful view of the bay, then continue with the adventure but now snorkeling in one of the fabulous spots where multicolored fish inhabit: Los Arcos Marine Park.
