We’ll visit a local school and be shown around by a local student and enjoy local cheeses produced by the students and fresh bread from a family-run bakery.

Your guide will take you on a fun and informative walk through the town where you can see a day in the life of the local residents. You’ll visit the main square, which is always the heart of Mexican towns. Visit the Museum of Archeology located in a charming, old high school. Then we’ll stop at the magnificent La Iglesia de la Preciosa Sangre a stunningly beautiful church and gardens on which construction began in the early 1900s, yet remain unfinished due to the revolution.
Leaving Mascota, we’ll enjoy the delightful drive through the mountain pines and oaks to the quaint town of Talpa de Allende. Get lost in the winding, old cobblestone streets of this former mining town founded by the Spanish around 1585. As you explore this beautiful town, your guide will introduce you to its hidden treasures and the sweet aroma of the candy factories that permeates the fresh mountain air.
Talpa´s Crown Jewel
At the center of town sits one of Mexico’s most beautiful and famous churches, the cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary of Talpa. Each year thousands of followers embark on a pilgrimage and head to Tapla and its stunning church. You’ll discover why this charming little mountain town and its rich tradition and history attracts artisans, pilgrims, and travelers from around the world.
Beautiful Views and Delicious Food
As we head out of Talpa, we will stop at Villa Cantabria where you can take in the breathtaking views of downtown Talpa and the extinct volcanoes that guards the emerald valley and hills below. We’ll enjoy a delicious lunch prepared using local and organic ingredients grown and raised right in the Mascota and Talpa region. This is a truly homemade Mexican meal like no other and a great part of an amazing day.
