Caballo Beach (El Caballo) Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, Mexico

Caballo Beach, Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, Mexico [toc] Introduction Caballo Beach (El Caballo), Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, Mexico Playa Caballo (or El Caballo, I’ve seen it mentioned both ways – Horse or The Horse) is a beautiful, relatively isolated, beach just northeast of Las Animas Beach in the South Zone of the Banderas Bay. You can get there directly by water taxi (panga) you can ask to be left off at Playa Caballo, it may not be viable due to waves and tides. If you are not looking to get wet, maybe it’s best to arrive at the pier at Las Animas and then walk northeast along the beach, take the path to Hotelito Mio, and to the right of the hotel is Caballo Beach. If you continue northeast you’ll get to Casitas Maraika, that has a small nice beach just to the right of it too. Caballo Beach Panorama The beach has light yellow sand, clear emerald green-blue waters, the waves can be stronger than the ones at Las Animas. Because Las Animas is a popular beach destination for a number of bay cruises, if you want a bit more privacy and want to ...

Boca de Tomates Beach, Puerto Vallarta

A walk along Boca de Tomates Beach, Puerto Vallarta [toc] Introduction Aerial view of Boca de Tomates Beach, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico An important explanation: Do not confuse Boca de Tomatlán with Boca de Tomates. Boca de Tomatlán is the Puerto Vallarta beach farthest south accessible by land and Boca de Tomates is the northernmost beach in Puerto Vallarta and Jalisco, which you can get to in a car. Just south of the mouth of the Ameca River is the political division of the State of Nayarit to the north and the State of Jalisco, to the south. In this area, you can find the northernmost beach of Jalisco, Boca de Tomates. It is a beige sand beach about 3100 ft (950 m) long. Turtle Release camp, Boca de Tomates Beach, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico It is an area known for its ramadas (palapa-like eateries) that offer fresh food from the sea. The place is also known as a crocodile habitat and is also a popular bird-watching location. The beach is nice, but it is not known for being very attractive, furthermore, due to the crocodiles, I would not recommend swimming in the ...

Lluvia (2020) Jovian

Lluvia (Rain) an impressive sculpture by Jovian on the Malecon [toc] Introduction Lluvia (Rain) is a new monumental sculpture unveiled December 10th, 2020 on the Malecon. It depicts a young man standing with outstretched arms looking upward into the sky (or rain). It can remind you a bit of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. This figure not only seems to represent the connection of humans and nature but also seems to offer a welcome embrace (or hug) to all visitors. It becomes the 34th sculpture placed along the edge of the sea in Puerto Vallarta. About the sculpture Lluvia by Jovian on the Puerto Vallarta Malecon Mexican artist Jovian created "Lluvia", a tall impressive sculpture that stands at 3.5 meters tall (11.5 ft) and weighs 650 kilograms (more than 1400 pounds) that now becomes another important component of this open-air Art Gallery by the edge of the sea. This very valuable sculpture was donated by the artist through Galeria Corsica to the Instituto Vallartense de Cultura (IVC) and the city. Las Pilitas, Los Muertos Beach, Puerto Vallarta

Las Pilitas (baptismal fonts), Los Muertos Beach, close to El Pulpito (Romantic Zone, Puerto Vallarta) [toc] Introduction Las Pilitas (the small baptismal fonts) and El Púlpito (The Pulpit) are two separate rock formations found on the southern end of Los Muertos Beach in Old Vallarta (Romantic Zone). In this article we'll concentrate on Las Pilitas, a group of rocks and boulders that are very recognizable because they are where you now can find the original Seahorse statue, a bigger replica is found on the Malecon and many are surprised when they find this one too. Las Pilitas video Las Pilitas, a bit of history By Prof. Carlos Munguia Fregoso (1938-2005) Official historian of Puerto Vallarta The fine sands of Los Muertos Beach extend from the end of Francisca Rodríguez Street -Hotel Marsol- all the way to the rock formations known as Las Pilitas and El Pulpito. El Púlpito (The Pulpit) and landmarks, Los Muertos Beach, Puerto Vallarta [toc] Introduction El Púlpito (The Pulpit) is a natural rock formation in the southern part of Los Muertos beach. Some locals mistakenly pronounce it "pulpito" (small octopus). This landmark is not only a great little trip, but it also has some interesting history. Top 10 Beaches in Puerto Vallarta (with videos)

[toc] One of the main reasons we choose to go to Puerto Vallarta are the beaches, but there are so many, sometimes it's hard to figure out which ones to visit and where to stay when we are there. This article tries to narrow things down. The video above shows the top 10 only within the Puerto Vallarta municipality, the list below includes beaches that fall outside the formal limits of la city and the area. It's more fair to have a top ten list of the greatest beaches in the area; I think it's a bit better than the Top 5 Beaches article since it allows me to include a larger range of possibilities of the beaches available in the Banderas Bay area.Still, as with the top 5 beach version, people look for a variety of things while looking for a beach, based on their interests, whether they are traveling alone, as a couple or as a family, whether they are looking for a specific activity, and so on. That is why we have included a list of “best beach for” list, which we think will also be useful. Colomitos Beach (Playa Colomitos) ...
