The Instituto Vallartense de Cultura (IVC) has unveiled a comprehensive plan to solidify Puerto Vallarta’s position as a cultural hub in Jalisco. The “Municipal Culture Program 2024-2027” aims to foster a thriving cultural ecosystem by promoting diversity, supporting local artists, and preserving the city’s rich heritage.
This ambitious initiative was presented by Lupita Gómez Basulto, director of the Instituto Vallartense de Cultura, during a recent city council meeting. The program is the result of extensive research and consultation with various stakeholders, including artists, cultural organizations, and community members.
A key component of the plan is a focus on inclusivity. By connecting public policies with diverse cultural expressions, the program seeks to ensure that everyone has access to cultural activities. Furthermore, the plan emphasizes the importance of empowering local artists and cultural workers through training and capacity-building programs.
