The city is set to revolutionize its public transportation system with the introduction of a new fleet of electric buses. These state-of-the-art vehicles will offer a more comfortable, efficient, and environmentally friendly way to get around the city. The new bus system, known as the Sistema Medina Ascencio, will feature articulated electric buses capable of carrying up to 120 passengers each. With a fare of just 10 pesos, these buses will offer a convenient and affordable option for commuters and tourists alike.
“We anticipate that the new buses will be operational by October or November of this year,” said Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro. “We want to have this new transportation system in place for the upcoming holiday season.”
The 38 new buses will primarily operate along the city’s main thoroughfare, Avenida Francisco Medina Ascencio, connecting popular destinations such as Ixtapa, the University Center of the Coast, the airport, and the Marina. The buses will be equipped with air conditioning, video surveillance, and real-time tracking systems to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
