Puerto Vallarta has concluded 2024 on a high note, achieving record-breaking tourism numbers during the holiday season. Hotel occupancy rates soared, reaching 90% on key dates, surpassing even the most optimistic projections from the local tourism sector.
This success can be attributed to a combination of factors, including effective marketing campaigns and a series of captivating events held throughout December. Data from the federal Ministry of Tourism’s Datatur system reveals a strong average occupancy rate of 76.1% during the first week of December, followed by a slight dip and then a rebound to in the week leading up to Christmas.
The holiday season saw a significant influx of visitors, with hotels operating at near-capacity throughout the festive period. Even as the new year began, occupancy remained high, with rates ranging from 85% to 90% on January 2nd.
