Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro announced a significant investment of 100 million pesos to support the 12 Magical Towns in the state. This funding will be used to improve infrastructure, promote tourism, and preserve the unique character of these destinations.
The funds will be allocated through a competitive process, with municipalities submitting project proposals for infrastructure improvements, urban development, training, and signage. A committee composed of state government officials, tourism professionals, civil society representatives, and business leaders will evaluate the proposals and allocate the funds.
In addition to the financial investment, the state government will also undertake a major rehabilitation project on the highway connecting Puerto Vallarta to Mascota and San Sebastián del Oeste. This 270.9 million peso project will improve road conditions and facilitate tourism between these popular destinations.
The Governor’s announcement was met with enthusiasm by local officials, including Aurora Ponce Peña, the Mayor of San Sebastián del Oeste. She expressed gratitude for the state government’s support and highlighted the positive impact that this investment will have on the local economy.
