The Jalisco state government has announced a significant investment of 239 million pesos to rehabilitate the stretch of highway connecting Puerto Vallarta to Mascota. The renovation project is set to begin in February and aims to improve road conditions and enhance safety for travelers.
Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro highlighted the importance of this project, stating that the goal is to ensure safe and efficient travel between Puerto Vallarta, a major tourist destination, and other charming towns like Mascota and San Sebastián del Oeste.
David Zamora Bueno, Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works, provided further details about the scope of the project. He explained that the 88-kilometer stretch of highway will undergo extensive repairs, including the removal of vegetation, routine maintenance, and the filling of potholes. Additionally, reflective markers will be installed to improve visibility, especially at night.
The announcement of this road improvement project comes on the heels of a commitment made by Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum to rehabilitate Highway 70 in Jalisco, which will further enhance connectivity in the region.
