Puerto Vallarta International Airport welcomed its first direct flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, operated by Alaska Airlines. The airline will be offering four weekly direct flights between New York and Puerto Vallarta on Boeing 737-900 aircraft, with a capacity of 178 passengers. This new service is a direct response to the growing demand from international travelers seeking the beauty and attractions of Puerto Vallarta.
Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Secretary of Tourism for Jalisco, emphasized the positive impact of this new route on the local economy and tourism industry.
With the addition of this new route, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport now offers an additional 1,246 seats per week to and from the United States. In 2024, the airport handled 1,868 flights to Puerto Vallarta with a load factor of 92%.
