Puerto Vallarta has reported a highly successful first long weekend of the year, with an impressive 88% hotel occupancy rate. The surge in tourism generated a significant economic impact of 390 million pesos for the destination alone.
According to Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Secretary of Tourism for Jalisco, the entire state experienced a significant boost in tourism during this period, with a total economic impact of 812 million pesos. “We closed with an occupancy rate above 85%, and we are very pleased with Puerto Vallarta’s performance,” she said. “We are happy to continue welcoming tourists during long weekends and throughout the year.”
Fridman emphasized the importance of diversifying tourism offerings to ensure a steady flow of visitors year-round.
