The highly anticipated WTA 125 Puerto Vallarta Open is just around the corner, and organizers are eagerly awaiting confirmation from Mexican tennis star Renata Zarazúa. The tournament, set to take place from March 24th to 30th, promises to feature top-tier talent from around the world.
Gustavo Santoscoy, the tournament director, emphasized the importance of Mexican representation. Zarazúa, currently ranked 69th in the world, has been battling a left knee injury, forcing her to withdraw from recent tournaments.
The tournament has confirmed the presence of other Mexican players, including Fernanda Contreras and Claudia Martínez Solís. Contreras, returning from two hand surgeries, will receive a wild card entry. Martínez, a promising 21-year-old, will also receive an invitation to compete. The tournament, held at the Sheraton Buganvilias in Puerto Vallarta, is expected to attract approximately 5,000 spectators throughout the week.
