The Mexican Navy’s ARM Zapoteco (AMP-02) docked at Puerto Vallarta’s pier 3 on Sunday, March 9th, as part of its national port tour. The 69-meter-long vessel arrived at 9:00 am, bringing with it 94 students, four instructors, and a director from the 4th class of the Master’s in Military Administration with a specialization in General Staff from the Superior War School.
Upon arrival, the leadership of the National Port System Administration in Puerto Vallarta (Asipona Vallarta), led by Retired Admiral Juan Ortiz Guarneros, welcomed the ship’s crew. The crew provided a comprehensive presentation, which sparked numerous questions from the visiting academics. The ship remained in port until March 10th.
The ARM Zapoteco is an auxiliary vessel built by the Mexican Navy in the 1980s and commissioned on June 1st, 1986. It continues to play an important role in the Navy’s operations.
