Puerto Vallarta’s public transportation is set to receive a significant upgrade with the arrival of 76 new buses in April. Jalisco Transportation Secretary Diego Monraz announced the delivery during a visit to the city on March 21st, 2025.
These buses will bolster the UnibusPV fleet, the city’s public transportation provider under contract with the Jalisco government. The vehicles, previously delayed due to manufacturer-related financial issues, are now cleared for delivery from Manzanillo. Upon arrival, they will be outfitted with branding and air conditioning before entering service, aiming to improve passenger comfort and reduce wait times.
Currently, Puerto Vallarta’s bus fleet consists of 200 vehicles, with 50 being relatively new. The addition of the 76 new buses will expand the fleet to 276, enhancing route coverage and overall efficiency. This delivery marks the first phase of a larger plan to modernize Puerto Vallarta’s transportation system.
