Nayarit Is A Haven of Adventure, Culture, and Cuisine

Sylvia Serafín, Director of Administration and Finance for the Nayarit Tourism Trust, recently highlighted the region’s growing appeal and strategic initiatives at the Anato 2025 Tourism Showcase.

To further expand its reach, Nayarit is focusing on European markets through participation in fairs and conventions. The upcoming expansion of the Tepic International Airport will improve international connectivity. Additionally, efforts are underway to reestablish the Colombia-Puerto Vallarta air route, aiming to attract more South American tourists.

Nayarit’s tourism offerings are diverse and continuously evolving. From traditional sun and beach vacations to adventure, wellness, romance, and vineyard tours, the region appeals to various segments, including families, MICE groups, and couples. With nine designated “Pueblos Mágicos” (Magical Towns), visitors can immerse themselves in the region’s rich culture and traditions. The Nayarit experience is further enhanced by its unique gastronomy, featuring traditional dishes prepared by local cooks and renowned chefs, as well as traditional beverages like tejuino.

Beyond its economic impact, tourism in Nayarit promotes the sustainable integration of indigenous communities, fostering cultural preservation and local well-being. Serafín highlighted three must-have experiences for visitors: whale watching in Riviera Nayarit, exploring the Laguna de Santa María del Oro, and visiting Jala, a “Pueblo Mágico” ideal for adventure tourism.
