Vallarta Climbs to Fourth Place in Perceived Safety

According to the most recent findings published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), the perception of safety among residents of Puerto Vallarta has significantly improved. The city has risen from ninth to fourth place nationally in terms of how secure its inhabitants feel.

The Institute released its National Urban Public Safety Survey (Ensu) on Tuesday, which placed Puerto Vallarta in fourth position. This marks a notable improvement from the previous survey where the popular tourist destination ranked ninth in the same category.

The urban areas with the lowest percentages of perceived insecurity were San Pedro Garza García with 10.4 percent, Benito Juárez with 20.4 percent, Piedras Negras with 20.5 percent, Puerto Vallarta with 23.0 percent, Saltillo with 24.5 percent, and Los Cabos with 24.7 percent. These results indicate that Puerto Vallarta is now considered one of the safest cities to live in, according to the opinions of its residents, despite past fluctuations in this perception.
