Under the curation of Cristhiam Castillo, the Bistro Gallery’s latest exhibition highlights a diverse array of Latin American talent, featuring artists from across the continent. Among the notable artists whose work is on display are Chilean artist Monica Villarroel and a strong contingent of Colombian artists: Uvaldo Torres (BaLDOT), Jimmy Villegas, Juan Manrique Silva, and Iván Guayasamin. The gallery is hosting a special event on June 19th, featuring new artwork from Jimmy Villegas, complemented by cocktail specials, canapés, and a DJ.
The Bistro Gallery, part of Casa Cupula, recently received recognition as the ‘Best LGBT+-Owned Art Gallery’ in the Puerto Vallarta Gays: Best of 2024 Awards. Cristhiam Castillo expressed pride in this achievement, stating, “This recognition affirms our mission to celebrate Latin American artists and their unique perspectives.”
Castillo further explained the depth of the featured art: “The artists we feature bring a profound depth to contemporary art, intertwining their personal histories, cultural influences and social commentaries.” Having worked with these artists since 2018, Castillo has curated a collection that truly represents the rich diversity of Latin American artistic expression.
