Vallarta Fire Department Receives New Equipment

Puerto Vallarta’s Civil Protection and Fire Department has significantly enhanced its emergency response capabilities with the official delivery of new vehicles and specialized rescue equipment. The handover ceremony, held at the La Lija sports complex on Monday, included three fire trucks, a water truck, three jet skis, and advanced tools for extraction, oxygenation, and ventilation.

This vital upgrade was made possible through a blend of municipal investment and crucial international support. A substantial portion of the new gear was generously donated by International Fire Operation 5280, a firefighting support organization based in Boulder and Denver, Colorado. This marks the second shipment of emergency equipment from the U.S. to Puerto Vallarta this year, coordinated with the assistance of Manuel García.

Future plans include the renovation of the fire department’s base in Joyas del Pedregal and the acquisition of additional vehicles. “We are investing in life-saving equipment because the safety of Vallarta’s residents is a priority,” Mayor Munguía stated, emphasizing the effective collaboration between government bodies and civil organizations.

Jorge Misael López Muro, Director of Civil Protection and Firefighters, confirmed the new equipment is valued at approximately three million pesos. He highlighted the particular importance of these resources during hurricane season, when emergency response demands typically increase. SEAPAL Vallarta also contributed a water truck to support firefighting operations.
