Film Festival Kicks Off in Puerto Vallarta

The Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta), in collaboration with the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), is inviting the public to the International Film Festival in Puerto Vallarta 2025 (FICPV). This free event will take place from today, Friday, June 13th, to Monday, June 16th, at various venues across the city, offering a rich program of cinematic experiences.

Now in its 25th edition, FICPV has solidified its position as the most significant film event in the region. It actively promotes the appreciation, dissemination, and projection of Mexican cinema, alongside productions from Spain and the United States. The festival serves as a crucial platform for training, dialogue, and creative exchange among industry professionals, critics, and students.

The festival’s program includes seven feature films and a short film session, showcasing acclaimed works from the “Hecho en Jalisco” (Made in Jalisco) and “Premio Maguey” sections. Screenings will be held at various locations, including the Dr. Juan Luis Cifuentes Auditorium, Cinépolis Pitillal, Domo Ixtapa, Universidad de la Veracruz, and The Top Sky Bar – Mantamar. As a special highlight, a Master Class titled “The Construction of the Cinematic Universe” will be led by Arturo Montero at the Los Mangos Cultural Center Library.
