Vallarta is set to launch a completely new and dynamic athletic event with the inaugural edition of the 2025 Puerto Vallarta Half Marathon on December 6 and 7. This exciting new race series will offer diverse categories and distances, promising a weekend of fitness and fun for the entire family. The event, expected to draw over 2,500 athletes, will offer distances for every age and ability.
Saturday, December 6, will focus on the future stars with the Mini Marathon and Children’s Races starting in the afternoon. Sunday, December 7, features the main events, with the 21K Half Marathon beginning at 6:00 a.m., immediately followed by the 5K Race at 6:15 a.m. All races will start and finish at the International Convention Center, providing a central and professional hub for the event. Organizers have established categories for both the 5K (Free) and the 21K Half Marathon (including Free, Master, Veterans, and Best Vallartense), ensuring a fair and competitive structure.
The tournament’s has received endorsements from major organizations, including the Mexican Federation of Athletics Associations (FMAA), the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), and World Athletics. Furthermore, the event features a substantial prize pool totaling over 200,000 MXN Pesos.
