Marigalante II Heading for Puerto Vallarta

The highly anticipated Marigalante II has officially entered Mexican waters, arriving off the coast of Chiapas after an epic journey from the Caribbean. Following a successful transit through the Panama Canal and the Central American Pacific, the majestic vessel is now on the final leg of its voyage toward its new home in Puerto Vallarta.

The ship is expected to make its grand entrance into Banderas Bay between December 21 and 22. This arrival is a deeply symbolic moment for the city, as the Marigalante II is the direct successor to the original, legendary Marigalante ship. Its homecoming represents a beautiful continuation of the maritime heritage and cultural identity that has defined Puerto Vallarta for decades.

Upon arrival, the Marigalante II will perform a graceful procession past the iconic Los Arcos on the Malecón, allowing locals and tourists to admire her from the shore. In a touching tribute, the vessel will pause near Camarones Beach—the site where the original ship rests—to honor its predecessor before heading to the maritime terminal for a festive welcome featuring live mariachi music.

To celebrate its arrival, the ship will soon offer a special open-house period, allowing the public to explore the vessel free of charge. This preview stage offers a unique chance for residents and visitors to experience the craftsmanship and history of the ship before it officially begins its regular nautical tours during the final week of the year.
