Puerto Vallarta’s municipal government and SEAPAL Vallarta are preparing to unveil the city’s first-ever Gogo Landia—an innovative public park in the Colonia Tamarindos neighborhood designed to bring communities together and encourage healthy habits through free access to clean, high-quality drinking water.
The grand opening is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, at 5:00 pm. The park’s centerpiece is a modern public water fountain providing free drinking water to visitors, modeled after successful urban renewal projects like the Tukiparques.
Mayor Luis Munguía emphasized the importance of the project: “Projects like Gogo Landia strengthen the social fabric and give families dignified places to gather… The goal is to provide modern, safe spaces where children can thrive together, representing a major step forward for family unity and the reclamation of public areas.”
SEAPAL Vallarta Director Carlos Ruiz noted that the project extends the agency’s core mission by integrating essential utilities directly into recreational areas. “By embedding public drinking fountains into neighborhood parks, the agency is actively supporting family health and ensuring that fresh, safe water is accessible to all residents during their leisure time,” Ruiz said.
In addition to the water fountain, Gogo Landia features a children’s play area and is designed as a secure, energetic gathering space for families. The initiative also promotes environmental awareness by encouraging visitors to bring reusable containers.
The launch of Gogo Landia reinforces local leaders’ commitment to elevating daily life for residents and visitors throughout downtown Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding neighborhoods, fostering a healthier, more connected, and sustainable community.
