Guadalajara, Jalisco — On June 18, avocado producers across Jalisco will attempt to set a Guinness World Record by preparing more than seven tons of guacamole at the Pan-American Charros Stadium in Zapopan.
The event is organized by the Association of Avocado Exporting Producers of Jalisco (APEAJAL) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER). Over 600 participants will take part, including local growers, packers, social service providers, and more than 300 culinary students from the International Gastronomic College. The massive stainless-steel mixing container has been donated by confectionery company Dulces de La Rosa.
The current record is held by Tancítaro, Michoacán, where volunteers prepared 6,800 kilograms in two and a half hours. Jalisco’s challenge highlights the state’s deep agricultural roots and the economic impact of avocado cultivation across the region.
