Puerto Vallarta will host its annual Kukur Tihar festival on November 9th from 3 PM to 9 PM. This unique event, inspired by a Nepalese tradition, celebrates the special bond between humans and dogs.
The festival will take place at the Luna Garden of Hotel Puerto de Luna, a pet-friendly venue. Attendees are encouraged to bring their furry companions to enjoy a day of blessings, competitions, and heartwarming tributes.
The festivities will include a dog blessing ceremony, canine competitions, and a dedicated altar where visitors can light candles to remember beloved pets who have passed away. The event will also feature live art, animal welfare organizations, and vendors offering pet products and treats.
To participate, dogs must be on a leash and wear a collar and identification tag. Aggressive dogs or those in heat will not be permitted. Admission to the event is free, but organizers encourage attendees to bring donations of dry dog food for local animal shelters.
