178 Cruise Ships to Arrive in PV This Year

Vallarta’s popularity as an international tourist destination continues to soar, with an impressive 178 cruise ships scheduled to dock in the city throughout 2024. This represents a significant increase compared to 2023, when 174 cruise ships brought a total of 543,609 passengers to the port.

The city’s strategic efforts to promote tourism on a global scale are paying off, as evidenced by the growing number of cruise ship arrivals. During the first quarter of 2024 alone, 58 cruise ships brought 177,000 visitors to Puerto Vallarta, contributing significantly to the local economy.

To accommodate the increasing number of cruise ships and their passengers, the Puerto Vallarta Port Authority (Asipona) is currently undergoing a remodeling and expansion project. This will enable the port to receive larger vessels, further enhancing the city’s attractiveness as a cruise destination.

Some of the notable cruise ships that will be gracing Puerto Vallarta’s shores in 2024 include the Zaadam, Navigator of the Seas, Carnival Panorama, Nieuw Amsterdam, Radiance of the Seas, and Norwegian Encore.
