The charming seaside town of Bucerías is getting ready to kick off 2026 with one of its most cherished traditions: the Patron Saint Festivities. Running from January 16 to 24, this week-long celebration transforms the town into a joyful hub of culture and faith, offering a warm invitation to both locals and international visitors to experience the heart of Mexican heritage.
The festivities center around the town’s main plaza, which will come alive with the sounds of live music and the rhythm of traditional folk dances. Food lovers will also find plenty to celebrate, as the area will be filled with stalls offering a delicious variety of local gastronomy, showcasing the authentic flavors that make the Riviera Nayarit so special.
The undisputed highlight of the week is the spectacular Maritime Pilgrimage, taking place on Saturday, January 24. In a breathtaking display of community spirit, dozens of local fishermen will adorn their boats with vibrant flowers and religious motifs. This colorful fleet will sail across the sparkling waters from La Cruz de Huanacaxtle to Bucerías to receive the annual blessing of the fleet.
