The Director of Municipal Tourism, Christian Preciado Cazares, shared his optimistic outlook for the Day of the Dead festivities in Puerto Vallarta in an exclusive interview with GST Medios. The plan includes parades, decorations, and the return of the famous largest Catrina in the world.

As explained by Preciado Cazares, the Tourism Commission will work closely with the Department of Culture to organize a series of commemorative events. Around 32 imposing Catrina figures, ranging from 3 to 5 meters in height, have been confirmed for display along the Malecón, courtesy of various companies. Altars will also be set up in the vicinity of the municipal presidency, created by businesses, schools, and families from the city center, all in honor of the Day of the Dead. Additionally, a parade will take place.

The Day of the Dead parade in Puerto Vallarta, to date, has the participation of 22 companies. Its route will start at the 5 de diciembre cemetery, pass through San Salvador, join Buenaventura, traverse the entire Malecón, and conclude at Lázaro Cárdenas.

The celebration promises to be impressive, with the participation of various groups, including motorcycles, funeral homes, schools, and travel agencies, scheduled for November 2nd. Furthermore, there are plans for a Charro horseback riding procession on October 30th, with the support of all the Charro associations. This procession will start at the Ley store and end at the Mercadito del Río Cuale.

The Catrina exhibition on the Malecón will be inaugurated on October 27th, with the eagerly awaited return of the largest Catrina in the world, although final confirmation is pending.

On November 1st, surprises are expected at the Catrina exhibition, and a pet fair has also been announced at Hidalgo Park, where the best-dressed pet will be awarded.

In summary, the Day of the Dead festivities in Puerto Vallarta promise to be spectacular, with a wide range of activities that pay homage to this special Mexican tradition.
